Apples

With calm, careful observation, we studied the form, coloring and gestural presence of apples, as well as the light source that casts realistic shadows. First we drew what we saw with pencil and then we translated these drawings onto high quality watercolor paper. While these are simple intimate still life views of a common fruit, the sensitive personality of each child shines through. To me, they stand alone for their pure, poetic beauty.
